SHUTTERS

4/28/2021

Our lift-out shutters really do make all the difference.
These clear acrylic-filled window frames can be removed in the summer months, leaving just the wire mesh walls for your cats to enjoy a truly outdoor feel and improving ventilation throughout your cattery.
When the bad weather arrives, just pop the shutters back on and your cattery will be protected from the elements making sure the cats are snug and warm.
Shutters can be fully removable or designed on drop down hinges, the choice is yours. If your cat pen is being installed up against a boundary, making the shutters inaccessible, we can fix them in place for you as we do our sneeze barriers.
So many of our customers tell us they don’t know what they’d do without our lift-out shutters as they are a huge benefit when extra ventilation is needed.
Replacements are available, prices supplied on request. All we need are the dimensions of each shutter, the quantity required and your location.

HEATERS

4/20/2021

A safer alternative to using heat lamps for catteries, the Pet Cassette produces an even radiant heat that is maintained at a safe level by an internal thermostat, ensuring a gentle efficient distribution of warmth over a wide area.

Designed for direct fitting onto a wall or ceiling, the Pet Cassette is available in two sizes:
Small: 380 x 410mm, 110watts, 240 volts – for our Penthouse Style pens
Large: 380 x 790mm, 225watts, 240 volts – for our Boarding Cattery Chalets

The Pet Cassette has a conveniently placed red neon lamp, indicating that the unit is on and a smooth white polyester powder coated finish, that provides an easy, wipe clean surface.
We fit our panel heaters onto the back walls of each sleeping quarter with the cables being installed into the insulated walls and hard-wired into a switched fused spur, for extra safety for your visitors.
The design has no exposed parts, is IP44 rated and the internal thermal cut-out regulates the surface temperature of the panel ensuring that it doesn’t exceed 75˚C, making them a safe choice for cattery enclosures.
Each Chalet is also fitted with a room thermostat, to give you greater control over the room temperature.

  • Low power consumption, low running costs
  • Suitable for animal enclosures and pets in general
  • Wall or ceiling mounting
  • Regulated surface temperature
  • Neon power indicator
  • Available in 110W and 225W outputs
  • Safety thermal cut-out built in.

A qualified electrician will need to complete the final wiring and lastly connect your cattery up to your mains electricity supply.

Heaters can be supplied separately from cat pen purchases, please contact us for a price, giving the size, quantity required and delivery location.

WOOD STAIN & PRESERVATIVE

4/19/2021

Treatment of our timber is paramount and one of the several steps each and every cat pen passes through on its handmade journey. All panels are immersed in our custom-made dip tank then thoroughly dried, before moving to the assembly team. Our specialist supplier mixes a made-to order, water-based, animal friendly, Lindee Lu nut brown colour, which incorporates waxes and acrylics, making sure that the wood we supply is fully protected with water-beading properties.

We are able to supply the same colour to you, directly to your door for annual maintenance on your cat pens and cattery establishments, in either multiples of 5Lt cans or a large 25Lt drum. Please contact us for prices.

SUNNING SHELVES & LADDERS

4/19/2021

Each cat pen run is fitted with two sunning shelves as standard, one 355x355mm positioned outside of the Chalet window with a 1219mm ladder for access to the floor, and another, 355x610mm, at the far end by the safety porch.
We also offer an upgrade option, with our Pop-hole Shelf. One full-length, 355x1829m platform, running from the Chalet window to the safety porch. There is an entry hole at the safety porch end leading to a ladder, allowing easy access between levels.

All Chalet sleeping quarters are also fitted with two 400mm deep, uPVC, shelves. One that runs from front to back in line with the window, where cats just love to use as an entry and exit point, sitting out on the run shelf to watch the world go by. The other is positioned lower down, running from side to side, meaning there is plenty of off-the-floor space and room for sleeping if from more than a one cat family.

Replacements are available, prices supplied on request. All we need is to know which shelves, the quantity required and your location.

TANALISED TIMBER & VINYL BASE

4/6/2021

From single units up to a block of 5, we can provide our tanalised wooden bases. A framework of tanalised timber is manufactured and fitted with recycled plastic feet, as added protection from the wood from being directly on the ground. The frame is then covered with 18mm board before finally having it’s hard-wearing, non-slip, vinyl topcoat applied. This leaves you with an easy to clean, beautifully warm feeling flooring throughout your pen/s.

All these bases require as footings is well compacted, boarded-out hardcore or flat, level paving slabs, which are a lot less intrusive than a concrete pad in your garden.

Useful Information About Cattery Bases - The importance of starting things off correctly

Larger catteries sit on top of a concrete pad. We will give you the exact dimensions for this and it is important that your cattery sits with a slight overhang to allow rain water to run away from the building rather than onto the concrete and underneath the cat’s exercise area.

The requirements for the pad are a minimum of 100mm depth, flat, level, square-edged with a pole float finish (rectangles only, no parallelograms!). We cannot stress enough just how important it is to follow this guide. A good base leads to a great installation.

From here you can decide what finish you have and we advise, for cleaning and hygiene purposes, that you cover the bare concrete.

The most expensive but increasingly popular option, is to tile the pad. This needs to be done before we arrive and cover the entire area, even under the sleeping quarters, leaving us with a flat surface for construction. One important point to keep in mind, is to make sure that the grout is applied flush with the tiles as the last thing you want is hard to clean grooves, which trap hair and dirt.

Other options include a hard-wearing floor paint or specialist resin-based paints such as Renotex, designed for cattery and kennel flooring. These can be applied after we have installed the cattery, although easier to do beforehand, and reapplied in high traffic areas as and when needed, to keep things looking fresh and smart.
